I think that's the difference between being "red pilled" and being "awake." To me, red pilled just means you understand that there's corruption and we're being lied to. The Awakening goes much deeper, and has to do with personal tests and trials that will break you, bring you to your knees, and humble you to the point where you grow and change as a human being.

Beautifully put, Kate! And so true, if we change our perspectives, things become a lot less painful. I love the ethics polls, anything that may make us ponder is movement forward and reason to improve ourselves ❤️

Regarding perceptions vs reality, never really bought into perceptions of others, with a focus on the objective reality when attention is required towards physical things and personal placebos abound to help motivate or alter perceptions, pecuniary or otherwise.

Also, maybe pain is not the object used to achieve, rather is an obstacle willing to be endured in right measure to be overcome, by those you cite, as they look beyond or through the pain to the goal. An alternative custom or philosophy, is that pain, being unnecessary to achieve most objectives in life, should be avoided. It is an indication that something is wrong, and needs to be solved at its source unless understood to be an acceptable consequence of building muscle mass or something similar. Again, those types of adverse biofeedback signal require attention to physical or spiritual countermeasures and adjustments like those you made for yourself.

Thanks for the visceral imagery, always moved to think when you write. Pray that that your discomfort is no longer a recurring theme to that paralyzed horror of feeling alone in it. Still full well knowing that your own faith and trust in God, can be worth far more than the positive thinking or even the prayers and kind expressions of another.

I am blown away by the fact that you come out with the things I really need to hear to help me get a handle on my “ perspective “ so that personal challenges can be conquered with some sanity.

While there is hope in the US, in Canada some of us feel the pull of despair. Some (many?) Canadians, fed by CBC, CTV and GLOBAL news stations (Canada’s CNN and MSNBC) have been stirred up into a frenzy of TDS. It had been apparent before, but the tariff war + the “Art of the Deal” Canada 51st state chatter have led to many Canadians losing all reason, refusing to examine the reality of the current tariff imbalance between our nations (ie: Canada charging 250% on dairy products); the existence of 4000 organized crime gangs, fentanyl labs in BC, our loose border and immigration policies, our refusal to pull our weight in NATO, and our inability to defend ourselves. Citizens have been blinkered as the north/south division, along with increased divisions between Canadians, are being inflamed by mainstream media.

There is no talking reason with the TDSers. No stats, no info can reach their hearts. Why? The MSM rules citizen hearts. They are the power mongers fomenting division and hatred. This has been the situation for more than five decades. Hobble the lib-lefty media and we might be able to reboot.

But, in the end, it is committed daily prayer that sustains me, keeps me sane. God answers prayer. We must hang onto that. Ora et labora. Pray and work. When others feel free to vocally voice their vigorous anti-Trump opinions, assuming everyone agrees with them, I do not fear wading in with a stat or two. X is also an excellent venue for that. In a few sentences we can weigh in wth stats and logic. That is our work. Chip, chip, chip away with ora et labora.

We need to think about social conscience .We already know not to do to individuals what we don't want to suffer ourselves. Vaccines--having wrong data means incorrect ideas about impacts on others. I get mad shopping at Walmart when they don't carry what I need because so few others think their own bodily health matters. Most people eat like mindless animals, mouth to the trough, mistaking flavorants for real flavor. Believing newsliars has consequences.

Is Walmart your only choice for food shopping? We also have an Aldi in my nearby small town, and I love it. They don't have everything, but their produce and dairy and meats are very good.

I get most of my food from a local farmer with a farmer's market store. It is little, and does not have things like baking soda. Walmart's has aluminum in it. I live in a rural area and drive miles to any store.

Praying big changes will be made to insure healthier food for all! It will take some time, though.
